Eli Crews

Eli has been tickling the faders for damn near a decade. Training includes an MFA from Mills College in Electronic Music and Recording Media and an internship with Myles Boisen at Guerrilla Recording. In addition to co-running N,IR he does some freelance engineering at Tiny Telephone and SF Soundworks in San Francisco, taught Intermediate Recording and Studio Maintenance at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville for four years, occasionally does live sound at the Elbo Room in San Francisco, and is a regular contributor to Electronic Musician magazine.

Bands he has played electric bass, string bass, guitar, or computer with include Beulah, The Loins, Spezza Rotto, The Herms, Shinola, The Roofies, Optimist International, Moe!Kestra, The Gold Dust Twins, Los Super Elegantes, Garth Steel Klippert, Aaron Novik, Sparklecock, and probably a few more.



John Finkbeiner

Able-bodied and addle-brained, right-handed engineer and multi-instrumentalist John Finkbeiner hails from Waukegan, Illinois. John has studied engineering with Myles Boisen; guitar with Morris Acevedo, Myles Boisen, and Richard Festinger, and drinking straw with Aaron Bennett.

John plays or has played with, among others, these bands: Guerrilla Hi-Fi, Adam Lane's Full Throttle Orchestra, The Highlander II's, Sir Dance-a-lot, Aaron Novik's Gubbish, The United Brassworkers' Front, Go-go Fightmaster, The Quiet Storm All-Stars, The Electro-Magnetic Trans-personal Orchestra, The Scenty-Gents, Optimist International, Sparklecock, etc.

Chris Cline

Chris got his start in Austin,TX shortly after graduating from Full Sail in Florida. He was appointed the chief engineering position at Stardog Studio (Austin, TX) just 2 months out of school and has had the honor of working with the likes of, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Mentallo and the Fixer, Drums and Tuba, Explosions in the Sky and many others in the indie world. Shortly after moving to the Bay Area, Chris got involved with a label by the name of Three Ring Records, which he now co-owns and operates.

In just two short years the label's roster has grown from just 1 to 11 bands, including Scrabbel, The Ebb and Flow, Elephone and D.W. Holiday. Three Ring Records is proud to have charted on the CMJ (College Music Journal) charts, breaking the top 100 a number of times.

Chris is also an accomplished drummer and currently plays with Bay Area favorites Scrabbel, D.W. Holiday and probably 27 more before he dies at the age of 40.




Jay Pellicci

Part garden gnome and part Chinese, Jay's been freelancing at studios for about 10 years. He's worked at studios such as New, Improved Recording, Tiny Telephone, the Music Annex, Jackpot!, and Hyde Street Studios. Some of the bands that he's been lucky enough to work with are: Deerhoof, Subtle, Erase Errata, Cody Chesnutt, and /Gravy Train!!!!.

He also plays drums in 31knots as well as other random projects.




Aaron Prellwitz

Aaron has been making ears happy for six years now. He started at Toast Studios in the late 90's where he cut his teeth working with bands such as Hella, The Donnas, and Neil Young & Crazy Horse. These experiences provided him with a solid foundation of both modern and classic techniques. Now working out of New, Improved Recording as well as Tiny Telephone he puts a lot of focus on making the recording process comfortable and spontaneous for artists while capturing sounds that please your ears.
